Sin Fronteras: Celebrating the Cultures of the Americas

Sweet Thursdays
at the National Steinbeck Center, Salinas, California

December 11 at 3 pmSin Fronteras: Celebrating the Cultures of the Americas Through Music with CSUMB’s Sharp Nine.

Sharp Nine, named for a chord typically used in jazz harmony, is a new band that originated from a jazz improvisation class directed by Dr. Enrique Rios-Ellis in CSUMB’s Music and Performing Arts Department. It was formed to celebrate the synergy of our students’ musical talents and their cultural prowess and proudly reflects their rich ethnic backgrounds. The songs you will enjoy at Sunday afternoon’s concert celebrate the breadth of the Americas--from the United States to Mexico to Brazil.

This innvoative performance is part of the National Steinbeck Center’s Sweet Thursday series.
